Early Childhood
Children in this stage begin to develop a sense of self and independence, explore the world around them, and engage in imaginative play. This stage is crucial for laying the foundation for future learning and development, with children making progress in language, social skills, emotional regulation, and cognitive understanding. They begin to explore the world around them through interactions and formed relationships with peers and adults that result in social and emotional competence (Morkel & McLaughlin, 2015).
